Straight hair seems to be easier to take care of but straight hair also needs the proper hair care just as much as other types of hair. It just differs with the procedure but straight hair also needs proper care to maintain it. Here are some tips and guidelines for your straight hair.

1. Do not shampoo your hair every day. Shampoo strips your hair of its vital nutrients and natural oil. Depending on how dry or how oily your hair is, shampooing should be every other day or thrice a week.
2. Try to wash your hair with cool water. Hot water also strips nutrients and natural oils. Cool water on the other hand, seals and locks in these nutrients and natural oils.
3. Use a conditioner after you shampoo. This aids in bringing back the lost moisture from washing your hair.
4. Do not rub your hair with your towel. Rather, gently squeeze out or just pat your hair with the towel. Rubbing your hair will damage it and cause it to frizz.
5. Although it is common for all of us to use blow dryers, frequent and incorrect usage of blow dryers can damage your hair. If you really need to use a blow dryer, use the coolest setting and never let your blow dryer stay in one area of your hair for more than a couple of seconds. If you can air dry your hair, this is better.
6. Comb your hair when it is dry. While it is still wet, just use your fingers to detangle it.
7. Most of us use hair products to keep our hair straight and in place the entire day. If you really need to use products, avoid using the ones that have alcohols in it. This would just dry your hair up.

Straight hair doesnít need to be stiff. It is more attractive to have straight hair that has body and moves with you. It is more natural looking and better to look at.
